POLITICO: Congress’s climate skeptics could snarl GOP

According to some polls, young voters and are less likely to back a candidate who avoid climate change talk or deny the existence of global warming. This could (obviously) be a problem for the GOP which earned its title as the anti-science party after having made statements such as evolution theories are lies from the pit of hell, male fetuses masturbait, and who could forget the famous statement from Todd Akin who is on the record saying that the female human body has a way to “shut that whole thing down” if it’s a “legitimate rape” what ever the hell that is.
While the GOP is obviously not filled with biologists and evolutionists they certainly are not filled with climatologists either. The Republicans’ skeptic caucus includes Texas Rep. Joe Barton, a former House energy chairman, who made headlines back in April when he called Noah’s flood “an example of climate change.” And who could forget California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, who told POLITICO that the idea of manmade global warming is a “fraud” and a “big lie.”
Now these people do not represent the entire Republican caucus but the do represent a large majority of it.
Just yesterday I saw the movie The Day After Tomorrow which is mostly based around global warming and the effects of ignoring it despite the facts. Now for those of you who haven’t seen the movie by the end of the movie just about all of the Northern Hemisphere has descended into an ice age after tsunamis, tornados, hurricanes, and a blizzards that freeze human in a matter of seconds. I’m not saying that any of that will ever happen (at least not in our lifetime) but what I am saying is that if we do continue to ignore it we will suffer consequences. I don’t know when or how extreme but we cannot ignore it and we cannot deny its existences because there is proof of its existence, there is science that can back up these theories. There is no liberal secret agenda this is just us caring about the future of our world.
